Christmas trees are the cause of nearly $13 million dollars in property damage each year. Here are a few   tips to make sure your Christmas tree is safe:

  • Keep your Christmas tree away from any and all heat sources
  • Have a cat? Secure the tree to the wall
  • Make sure you keep your tree watered
  • Is your tree starting to drop its needles? Say “Goodbye” until next year

Food Safety:

  • Make sure raw meats do not come in contact with other foods
  • Keep your cutting boards separate.
  • Do NOT wash raw meat and poultry
  • Make sure you cook your meat to the proper temperature before serving
    • 145°f – FRESH beef, pork, veal, lamb, and roast
    • 160°f – GROUND beef, pork, veal, lamb, and eggs
    • 165°f ALL poultry

Stay on the Nice List…

  • Last year, approx. 37,133 people were killed in motor vehicle accident
  • 57 million people were seriously injured
  • Motor vehicle accidents cost $413.8 billion dollars
  • 10,874 motor vehicle deaths were alcohol related
  • 9,717 motor vehicle deaths were speeding related
  • 795 motor vehicle deaths were due to a drowsy driver
  • 1/3 of holiday motor vehicle accidents are alcohol related
