Suspended Licenses REINSTATED

This is incredibly good news! The Southern Poverty Law Center, and others, have reached an agreement with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety concerning the suspension of drivers licenses due to unpaid fines.
Its just common sense folks! People have to be able to drive in order to get to work and…. support their family. And also pay their fines to the Government. Which, I’m afraid, some people think is more important than supporting one’s family!
There is a LOT more to this story and we should all pay very close attention. (Think about Voter ID) Unfortunately, I doubt law makers on the establishment side of politics don’t already see and angle…. (there’s got to be an advantage or disadvantage for someone somewhere here). So, you have to CALL your legislators!
Its important to remember that laws can be rewritten by our legislators over and over again while courts sort out a laws general constitutionality. All the while, our law enforcement and courts are required to spend government funds enforcing the law, as written. You cant undo an arrest that is later found to have been unconstitutional.
KNOW THIS: Your legislators have to know you are opposed to restrictions upon liberty (like the suspension of a drivers’ license for inability to pay a fine to a governmental entity) or they will only hear from lobbyists and campaign donors (or) people from the private prison industry or the education industry. ….. Ok. . . . A directory of your Mississippi Legislators can be found HERE. Get after’em.
Let them know Mississippians believe in freedom and liberty!
