Tishomingo County Car Wreck

The Daily Journal is reporting that a Tishomingo police officer was injured in an auto accident on Highway 30 last week.  This just goes to show that even those of us who are trained to spot careless drivers and apprehend them can get caught off guard and hurt in a car wreck.  The initial reports make it sound like the person who caused the accident drifted into the policeman’s lane of travel and struck his car head on.  Both parties were air lifted away from the scene and in the hospital with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries.

Hopefully, both of these drivers will make a full recovery.  And hopefully the driver that appears to have caused the wreck had insurance so the officer is able to get compensation for his injuries over and above the workers compensation claim he should be entitled to.  Additionally, the officer may be able to file a claim under his uninsured motorist coverage if he has it.
