Rice Farmers Case Finally Settled

Around 2006 rice growers began finding genetically modified rice where it should not have been.  The problem was Bayer Agriculture Division had accidentally mixed the  an Experimental Strain of Genetically Modified seed with approved rice strains.  The problem is, some markets, especially European markets, forbid or restrict the sale of Genetically Modified products.  Rice Growers lost lots of business over the contamination and the economic impact of the incident is still being felt today by many. For more information on the Rice Growers Settlement click here to read the Associated Press article in the  Clarion Ledger Article.  I wonder how many Mississippi Farmers were parties to this suit?
